01 The question
You love each other. Like any couple, you’re going through some challenges — it’s hard to find time for intimacy, and when you do, connecting isn’t as easy as it used to be. You may be struggling, or you may be comfortable… but deep down, you know something is missing.
You still care for each other. And some nights, you can’t help but wonder:
Is this it?
We promise you. The answer is “No.”
What if there are perspectives you’ve never thought of — ways to bring more playfulness, presence, wonder, empathy and curiosity into the relationship you value most?
What if your relationship is on solid ground… but it hasn’t been fully explored?
02 The training
You spent decades learning how to build your career, manage your finances, improve your health and pursue your ambitions. Yet somehow, you were expected to know how to handle complex, multifaceted adult relationships — with no training at all.
So we learn as we go, hoping to find our way through experience alone. And all too often, relationships are difficult to navigate even when they’re going well.
The good news? You can find your way through this strange, wonderful territory. You can have grand adventures together.
We will be your guide.
03 The invitation
The Art of Us is an invitation to step out of your routine and into a space of intentional discovery — a weekend that hands you a map to territories in your relationship you’ve never explored.
Together we’ll try on perspectives you haven’t considered, learn intimate practices you didn’t know existed, and rekindle the kind of layered, living connection that redefines how you love.
04 The weaving
Every experience we guide blends the felt and the studied — so what you discover doesn’t stay at the retreat. It comes home with you.
01
Out of your head, into the room. Breath, presence and nervous‑system awareness — the ground deep connection stands on.
02
Contemporary relationship research and the latest studies on intimacy, sensuality and sexuality — translated into the practical and the personal.
03
Guided experiences for the two of you. Every exercise is an invitation, and you choose how deep to go.
Together, we will explore new dimensions of intimacy.
05 The us
Every partnership is more than two people. Between you lives the relationship itself — an us with its own moods, its own memory, its own momentum.
This retreat tends to all three: you, your partner, and the space between you. You’ll leave with perspectives and practices that help the us keep evolving — with depth, aliveness and intention.
What opens up
06 The city
Say the word retreat and people picture cabins, shared accommodations and disappearing into the woods for a weekend. That’s not what we’re creating.
The Art of Us is an urban retreat. You’ll spend the weekend immersed in conversations, workshops, guided experiences and connection with others — then head home to sleep in your own bed each night.
Meals and accommodations aren’t included. Instead, we’ve designed an experience that’s easier to fit into everyday life while keeping the depth and intentionality of a retreat. Come learn, practice, reflect and grow — without leaving the city.
07 The curriculum
Every conversation, exercise and activity in this retreat has been chosen intentionally. We’re building The Art of Us from peer‑reviewed research, contemporary relationship psychology and years of facilitation — not because we think theory is enough, but because good research becomes most meaningful when it’s lived, practiced and experienced together.

08 The guides
The Art of Us was created by two people with different backgrounds but the same question: how do we build relationships that continue to grow over time?
Together, we combine evidence‑based education, therapeutic training, lived experience and a deep curiosity about intimacy, communication and human connection.
Isa is a sexuality educator, couple’s and sex psychotherapist‑in‑training, and workshop facilitator with years of experience creating spaces where people can explore intimacy with curiosity, confidence and care.
After leaving a career in climate physics, they immersed themselves in the study of sexuality, consent, BDSM, eroticism and contemporary relationship science. Today, they combine that background with psychotherapy training to help people deepen connection, navigate desire, and build relationships that feel more alive.
Isa believes intimacy isn’t something we accidentally find — it’s something we learn, practice, and continue discovering together.
El’s path into relationship education began with a simple fascination: people.
Her work in support services, harm reduction and sexuality education exposed her to the incredible complexity of human relationships, while her own curiosity led to years of studying communication, attachment, intimacy and connection.
She believes healthy relationships aren’t built on instinct alone — they’re shaped through curiosity, compassion, and a willingness to keep learning. Through The Art of Us, El hopes to create spaces where people can slow down, ask better questions, and discover new ways of relating to themselves and each other.
We believe relationships deserve the same care, intention and lifelong learning that we devote to every other important part of our lives.
The Art of Us is our invitation to pause, step outside the routines of everyday life, and explore what’s possible when you approach your relationship with curiosity, playfulness and intention.
We can’t wait to welcome you.
The weekend runs Sept 18–20 on Bloor Street West. The newsletter brings ongoing notes on intimacy and connection — and 20% off tickets, whenever you’re ready.
